Choosing an Annual Election
Once a member enrolls and sets an annual election amount, that pre-tax amount will be automatically deducted from their paycheck in equal increments throughout the year. Keep in mind the contribution amount can be changed at any time, and post-tax contributions can also be made by check, online, or through the mobile app as long as it does not surpass the annual maximum for the year.
Members are eligible to participate in an HSA if they:
- have health coverage under a qualifying High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP)
- are not eligible for Medicare
- are not eligible to be claimed as a dependent on someone’s tax return
- are not covered by any other non-qualifying health plan (i.e., a health plan offered through your spouse’s employer)
- and/or your spouse are not enrolled in a FSA
